On MacBook pro A1278 or earlier MacBooks you can replace the ram if it got faulty. But on MacBook air and latest macbook pro ram is part of the logic board and soldered on the board. It is very important to diagnose which part or line is shorted on the line to pin point or address the problem. Unfortunately finding a short of the MacBook logic board and than reading the schematic digram is not something that anyone can do. The capacitors on the Ram line were shorted to ground. To confirm this we perform direct voltage to the line and looked through thermal camera which confirmed the ram is shorted. see below picture. If ram is shorted you will see processor fan running continuously. In the above picture we can see clearly ram is over heating which confirms the ram is faulty. We removed the ram which was overheating at 70 degrees centigrade and tested the line of the short and tested the shorted line with multimeter and short was relieved. recalled the ram and solder it back on. Cleaned the board in ultrasonic machine. Before we put the MacBook logic board we recommend to put thermal pads on the ram see in below picture.
